Move-Out Cleaning in Los Angeles & Orange County

In Los Angeles and Orange County, a move-out often comes down to logistics before it comes down to cleaning. Many apartment buildings in Koreatown, Mid-Wilshire, Downtown LA and Santa Monica set move-out hours and ask you to reserve the service elevator, so the clean has to fit the same window as the movers or the next one the building allows. Street parking is its own puzzle: posted street-sweeping days, permit-only blocks and loading zones change from street to street, so we ask where a cleaner can park before we book. In Irvine and much of south Orange County, HOA communities add gate entry, guest-parking limits and quiet hours. Older duplexes and bungalows in places like Long Beach and Pasadena need more hand detail than a newer condo. Steampunk House Cleaning plans each move-out around your building's rules and your walkthrough time.

What our Los Angeles & Orange County move-out clean includes

This is what an LA or Orange County move-out clean covers in an empty home. The notes show where high-rise apartments, coastal homes and HOA townhomes change the work.

  • Inside cabinets and drawers. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets wiped shelf by shelf, plus closet shelving and the built-in organizers common in newer condos and townhomes.
  • Baseboards, doors and switch plates. Hand-wiped room by room, including the scuffs movers leave on door frames and hallway corners.
  • Window sills and sliding-door tracks. Sills and slider tracks cleared; near the coast that usually means sand and a salty film, inland it is mostly dust.
  • Bathrooms. Toilet, tub, shower, sink, mirrors and grout scrubbed; shower glass and fixtures polished.
  • Kitchen surfaces. Stovetop and range hood degreased, inside the microwave cleaned, counters, backsplash, sink and appliance fronts wiped.
  • Light fixtures and ceiling fans. Dusted once the furniture is gone, so nothing drifts down onto clean floors.
  • Floors. Hardwood, laminate and tile vacuumed and mopped; carpet vacuumed edge to edge, including closets.

Paid add-ons (not included)

  • Inside the oven. Paid add-on. Not included in move-out cleaning; add it to your quote if your building manager or HOA inspects the oven.
  • Carpet shampoo. Paid add-on for carpeted bedrooms or stairs; mention it on the quote form.

Getting your deposit back in Los Angeles & Orange County

In a big building or an HOA community, a smooth handover depends on timing as much as cleaning. These practical steps help:

  • Ask your building manager or HOA for their move-out checklist and move-out hours, and send both with your quote request so we clean to their list inside their window.
  • If the building requires an elevator reservation, book a slot long enough for the movers and the clean, or tell us your movers' slot so we can schedule right after.
  • Tell us where a cleaner can park: a guest spot, a loading zone, or street parking. Check the posted street-sweeping signs on your block so we can avoid those hours.
  • In gated or HOA communities, register your cleaner with the gate or leave a guest pass, and let us know about any quiet hours.
  • Walk the empty unit after the clean and take date-stamped photos or video of every room, including inside cabinets and closets.

Check your lease and your building or HOA move-out checklist for what will be inspected.

We clean to your landlord's checklist, but the deposit decision is theirs, so we cannot guarantee a specific outcome.

What Los Angeles & Orange County customers said

Amazing service. They did everything I asked for and more. Totally dependable and flexible. I don't know how I managed without them. Great work, thank you guys!

I've tried four different cleaning companies over the years. Steampunk is the first one I've stuck with for more than two months. They just show up and do the job. That's all I ever wanted.

Los Angeles & Orange County move-out cleaning FAQs

How much does move-out cleaning cost in Los Angeles and Orange County?

It comes down to three things: how big your home is, which service you need, and how often you book. Tell us about your Los Angeles and Orange County home on the quote form or call (725) 255-3688 — a free move-out cleaning quote takes about 2 minutes. Building rules matter too: a short elevator window or a long walk from parking can change how we plan and staff the job. Inside-oven cleaning is not included; it is a paid add-on you can request with your quote.

My building only allows move-outs during set hours and needs an elevator reservation. Can you work with that?

Yes. Send us the building's move-out hours and your elevator reservation time when you request a quote. We schedule the clean inside that window, or right after your movers if the building allows it.

Where will your cleaner park?

Tell us what your building or street allows: a guest space, a loading zone, a parking pass or street parking. Street-sweeping days and permit rules vary from block to block in LA and OC, so check the posted signs and we will plan the arrival time around them.

Do you do move-out cleans in Irvine HOA communities?

Yes. Irvine's villages and many Orange County townhome communities have gate entry, guest-parking limits and quiet hours. Share the gate instructions and any HOA move-out rules, and we will plan the visit around them.
